ROCHESTER, NY (JULY 13, 2020) – Black Button Distilling, one of the top five craft distilleries in the USA, and the first grain-to-glass farm distillery in Rochester, NY since prohibition, will launch their hand crafted, limited edition Loganberry Gin in the Buffalo market on July 17, 2020. This is the second annual release of the Loganberry Gin.
Since 2015, Black Button Distilling has made a seasonal Lilac Gin to honor the heritage of our home in Rochester. “In 2019, after the success of our Lilac Gin, we thought it was time that Buffalo had their own unique gin drink, and what better flavor than Loganberry,” said Jason Barrett, Black Button Distilling President and Master Distiller.
The Loganberry has been around since the 1800s and is a hybrid made from accidentally crossing a raspberry and a blackberry (so the story goes). Originally sold in beverage form at Crystal Beach theme park, the Loganberry drink has lived on as a unique beverage in Western New York and Southern Ontario.
Loganberry Gin has an aromatic nose made up of citrus, floral and spice. During the mid-palate, notes of juniper with a dash of sweetness sneak through. Finally, heavy notes of sweet berries roll past the tongue making way for a pleasant juniper finish.
