Rochester Business Journal Names Black Button Distilling President/Master Distiller Jason Barrett a Forty Under 40 Honoree

ROCHESTER, NY (SEPTEMBER 7, 2020) – Rochester Business Journal has selected Jason Barrett, Black Button Distilling President and Master Distiller as a 2020 Forty Under 40 honoree.

Forty Under 40 recognizes 40 men and women, under the age of 40, who have achieved professional success and who have also made significant civic contributions to the community. A panel of judges consisting of previous winners from various professions selected the Forty Under 40 honorees. In choosing the winners, judges looked for candidates who excel professionally and who are actively involved in and giving back to the community.
 
“The Forty Under 40 honorees are not only achieving success in their careers but giving back in meaningful ways to the Rochester community,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, group publisher of the Rochester Business Journal.

“This year’s Forty Under 40 class faces challenges different from those honored previously. They are finding ways to innovate in all areas, from how to lead and grow their businesses to creating opportunities for others. In addition, they are doing more than their share to make Rochester a better place to live and work while still growing their careers. The Rochester Business Journal congratulates this year’s Forty Under 40 honorees.”
 
Recently, Black Button Distilling’s innovative and tireless work during the height of the COVID-19 crisis enabled Barrett and team to supply life-saving hand sanitizer to the Rochester community and beyond at a time when it was most needed.
 
“It’s an honor to lead the amazing group of hardworking people we call the Black Button Family,” said Barrett. “This award really belongs to all of us and it’s great to see the team recognized for all the hard work they put in every day.”
 
The winners will be honored Nov. 12 at a virtual celebration starting at 5:30 p.m. at rbj.net/events/forty-under-40/. Each of the winners will be celebrated for their achievements through video storytelling. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in the program with their congratulations and cheers using social media platforms from their homes or offices.
