Rochester, New York-based Black Button Distilling, the city’s first grain-to-glass distillery since prohibition, has donated over 1,600 gallons of FDA approved hand sanitizer to the state of New York in an effort to help maintain safe poll sites throughout the state for the upcoming presidential election on Nov. 3. Equivalent to over three million hand washes, Black Button Distilling’s contribution will be distributed at polling sites across the state.
Black Button Distilling is the area’s first grain-to-glass craft distillery, which means they process everything in house. The distillery is dedicated to supporting New York State agriculture by sourcing 90 percent of the ingredients locally. Black Button sources their corn, wheat, barley, and rye from Edgewood Farms in Groveland, located in the Finger Lakes region
… Once in a while I get to try a standout that joins the elite ranks of America’s Best Craft Distilleries, and this month my latest entrant is Rochester, New York-based Black Button Distilling, which wowed me with its products across several categories. While creating even one exceptional spirit can be a challenge, in this case the key to doing it multiple times turns out to be deceptively simple – source the best quality ingredients and take the time and care to make produce superior goods before releasing them.
