Black Button Distilling this fall plans to offer a three-day course, “The Craft Distilling Experience.”
The course will be Sept. 16 to 18 and is designed to help those with some background in the distilling industry to transition to commercial distillation, company officials said.
Jason Barrett, president and head distiller of Black Button Distilling, will teach the course.
“Education is incredibly important in this industry, both in terms of safety and quality,” Barrett said. “Our mission during this course is to help students avoid the pitfalls that commonly occur during distillery startups and to give them a leg up in terms of equipment selection, product selection, recipe development, legal and practical build-out considerations and more.”
The course will run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $950 per person, with a 50 percent of discount for the second person to attend from the same distillery, officials said.
