WINE & CRAFT BEVERAGE NEWS
ROCHESTER, NY — Black Button Distilling, Rochester NY’s first and finest grain to glass craft distillery, has won a silver medal at the 169th Annual New York State Fair, for their Little Barrel Bourbon.
Little Barrel Bourbon debuted on Black Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, as a limited release and marked the first time bourbon has been made and sold in Monroe County since Prohibition.
Little Barrel Bourbon was aged for four months in five gallon barrels and is the same recipe going into the barrel as the highly anticipated release of Black Button’s Four Grain Bourbon, their signature spirit that will be released later this fall.
The one-time limited release of 1,400 375 ml bottles of Little Barrel Bourbon gave craft bourbon fans an opportunity to taste what’s coming at Black Button Distilling – and they quickly sold out.
“It is a huge honor to be awarded the silver medal for our Little Barrel Bourbon here at the New York State Fair. The Fair has its roots in New York State agriculture — and so do we,” said Jason Barrett, Black Button Distilling Owner/Head Distiller. “Our New York State grain to glass distillery is proud of the Little Barrel Bourbon we have put out and are excited to see the hard work of our distillers recognized by the State Fair Commission.”
“We are also excited that in just a few short weeks our older Four Grain Bourbon from larger barrels will finally be ready for blending. This is the first of what I am sure will be many great things to come from the talented team we have here at Black Button Distilling,” said Barrett.
