Black Button Distilling will open a Buffalo tasting room in June, officials announced Thursday.
The new room will be located at 149 Swan St. It will feature the company’s products as well as other New York products such as Rohrbach beers, Heron Hill wines, and cider from Steam Punk Cider, the company said. Drafts from breweries in the eastern part of state will also be available.
“Buffalo, like Rochester, has a growing food and beverage community, and it features our largest base of consumers outside of Rochester, so it’s a natural extension for us to grow west,” said Jason Barrett, president and head distiller of Black Button Distilling. “Our main goal with the tasting room is to connect with the Buffalo community, and to show consumers what they can do with our products.
“We look forward to this new opportunity to further display our products in Buffalo and to becoming an even more active part of the community.”
The tasting room will also incorporate Tapas-style small plates, a patio and roof deck, and full collection of Fee Bros. bitters and cocktail equipment such as jiggers and large ice cube molds, Black Button Distilling officials said.
The distillery will add more fermenters that will enable the company to make 5,000 bottles of grain to glass spirits on a weekly basis.
“We are firing on all cylinders,” Barrett said in a statement. “We are achieving 70 percent year over year growth and picking up steam. On March 17, two new stills will be delivered to our Rochester distillery, which will triple our production capacity.”
