Why would the grandson of a button factory owner open a grain-to-glass distillery in Upstate New York?
The journey that brought Jason Barrett to where he is today, founder of the successful and thriving Black Button Distilling, includes stops on Capitol Hill and a stint in sales with a cardboard box manufacturer.
ROCHESTER, NY (SEPTEMBER 7, 2020) – Rochester Business Journal has selected Jason Barrett, Black Button Distilling President and Master Distiller as a 2020 Forty Under 40 honoree.
Forty Under 40 recognizes 40 men and women, under the age of 40, who have achieved professional success and who have also made significant civic contributions to the community. A panel of judges consisting of previous winners from various professions selected the Forty Under 40 honorees. In choosing the winners, judges looked for candidates who excel professionally and who are actively involved in and giving back to the community.
Black Button Distilling, one of the top five craft distilleries in the USA, and the first grain-to-glass farm distillery in Rochester, NY since prohibition, will launch their hand crafted, limited edition Loganberry Gin in the Buffalo market on July 17, 2020. This is the second annual release of the Loganberry Gin.

This is the fifth annual release of the Lilac Gin, with just under 3,500 bottles available for purchase.
